This interview takes place between Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and Elder Lance B. Wickman of the Quorum of the Seventy.
A few gems:
ELDER OAKS: Let me just add a thought to that. There is no fullness of joy in the next life without a family unit, including a husband, a wife, and posterity. Further, men are that they might have joy. In the eternal perspective, same-gender activity will only bring sorrow and grief and the loss of eternal opportunities.
and then later, in answering a question about what parents might say to a gay son who wants to bring his partner home for the holidays:
‘Yes, come, but don’t expect to stay overnight. Don’t expect to be a lengthy house guest. Don’t expect us to take you out and introduce you to our friends, or to deal with you in a public situation that would imply our approval of your “partnership.”
and Elder Wickman ties everything up with a pretty bow:
ELDER WICKMAN: Homosexual behavior is and will always remain before the Lord an abominable sin.
This is what the fastest-growing Christian religion in the world teaches. This is the religion literally every member of my family belongs to. This is what I grew up hearing every Sunday for church, every Wednesday for youth group, and every Monday - Friday during high school for Seminary. And yet, my parents are able to rise above.
So listen here, Dallin H. Oaks: My name is Joshua E. Judd, and I am Gay, Mormon, and Loved.
